Golf Sales Executive/Manager
Rockliffe Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort · Hurworth-on-Tees, South East England
About the hotel
Rockliffe Hall is an AA 5 Red Star resort set on a grand North East estate, where golf, spa time and destination dining sit alongside genuinely polished five-star service. The hotel is in the middle of a multi‑million‑pound redevelopment, with big changes planned across bedrooms, spa, golf and restaurants. That means the story is evolving — you’ll be selling a property with serious heritage and ambition, while the brand and market positioning are being sharpened in real time. It’s a place for guests who come to make a weekend of it, and for corporate groups who expect everything to run smoothly.
The work
- • Handle incoming golf enquiries for group, corporate, society and charity days, shaping them into well‑priced, well‑run bookings.
- • Build and manage a pipeline of accounts, keeping forecasts, targets and next steps clear and current.
- • Develop relationships with corporate partners, tour operators and golf organisers, representing Rockliffe Hall in a way that matches five‑star expectations.
- • Identify new business opportunities for the premium golf offering, from repeat societies to new corporate golf days.
- • Coordinate with wider resort teams to ensure what’s sold can be delivered — tee times, guest experience, and the details that make groups come back.
- • Present the resort confidently and professionally, translating the redevelopment and evolving brand into a compelling reason to book.
This role is for you if…
- • You’ve sold premium hospitality, golf, or luxury leisure before — and you understand what “five‑star” has to look and feel like at every touchpoint.
- • You know the golf market and you either have, or can quickly build, a network of organisers, corporates and partners who trust your word.
- • You’re comfortable owning numbers: targets, forecasting, pipeline hygiene and the follow‑up that turns interest into signed business.
- • You’re organised and self‑directed, but you also like working closely with operational teams so the guest experience matches the sales promise.
- • You’re genuinely into golf (and the culture around it) and you care about delivering a day that people talk about for the right reasons.
This role might not be for you if…
- • You prefer a purely reactive role — this job needs proactive outreach and relationship-building, not just replying to enquiries.
- • You dislike working to targets, maintaining a pipeline, or being accountable for revenue performance.
- • You struggle with the polish required in a five‑star environment, where emails, calls and presentations have to be consistently sharp.
- • You want everything to be static and settled — the resort is in transformation, and you’ll need to sell confidently through change.
